I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the entire team at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre Labor Department, Unit 27. I recently had my C-section and tubal ligation, and during my second day of recovery, I was experiencing a lot of pain. I especially want to thank Nurse Jayden🥰, who truly became a lifesaver for me during that difficult time. She made sure I was warm, comfortable, cared for, and most importantly, she listened to all of my concerns with compassion and patience. Her kindness and dedication meant so much to me, and I will never forget the care she gave during my stay in the hospital. I would also like to thank all the other nurses who were incredibly gentle, kind, and caring throughout my recovery. Your support made such a big difference during one of the most challenging moments of my life. A huge thank you as well to Dr. Slabbert who did my surgery - she's really kind, gentle, and professional(Thanks a lot, doc!). The other doctors too who checked on me the following day. They were all amazing, professional, and supportive. I am truly grateful for the excellent care I received. Thank you all for everything you do for your patients and families.

1st world country with a top-notch healthcare system. They torture you first before letting you see a doctor in ER.

I came to the emergency department at Red Deer Regional Hospital with severe ear pain, swelling, pressure, difficulty hearing, fever symptoms, and inability to sleep. I explained multiple times that the pain was becoming unbearable and that I felt my condition was urgent because it was affecting my ability to function normally. What disappointed me most was not only the very long wait time, but also the lack of communication and reassurance during the process. I understand emergency departments must prioritize life-threatening cases first, and I respect the difficult work healthcare staff do every day. However, when someone is sitting in strong pain for hours, scared and unable to sleep, even basic communication and empathy can make a huge difference. I repeatedly asked staff if they could tell me approximately how many people were ahead of me in the queue or how long the wait might realistically be, but I was told they could not provide any information. I was also told that nothing could be given or done until a doctor saw me. Sitting in severe pain without updates or support made the experience feel emotionally exhausting and frustrating. I felt dismissed when trying to explain how serious the pain felt to me personally. Being told that other patients were more important, without much explanation or reassurance, made me feel ignored during an already stressful and painful situation. This review is not meant to attack healthcare workers personally. It is honest feedback from a patient experience. I hope the hospital can improve communication, compassion, and support for people waiting long hours in pain, especially during overnight emergency visits.

Its dirty, its falling apart, wait times are a total joke. My daughter has been waiting for her blood work results for 3 hours back in minor treatment, and we haven't seen one doctor back here in the past 40 minutes. Once she gets her results we can leave, youd think theyd be rushing her outta here. Do better Red Deer

Excellent treatment. Staff were all helpful, friendly and professional, and the medical care was exceptional, and all of this in the midst of remodeling!
